Beggars and Machines

Machines and Beggars are special interactable objects and NPCs found throughout the game, often taking some kind of resource from Isaac in exchange for Pickups and Items. All of them are unlocked by defeating Mega satan.webp Mega Satan as a certain Tarnished character.

Epiphany adds 6 new Machines and Beggars to the game, 5 of which being Machines and 1 being a Beggar.

Dice Machine

Dice Machines are commonly found within Arcades and require 5 Coins to use. Using a Dice Machine always spawns a Dice Capsule, consumable items that act as a one time use Dice item.

Dice Machines eventually break after too many uses, leaving behind the Portable dice machine.png Portable Dice Machine item. On rare occasions, the Portable Dice Machine item can be replaced by Delirious die dispenser.png Delirious Die Dispenser.

The chance of getting a Capsule Dice and having it pay out with an item is increased while holding Lucky foot.pngLucky Foot.

Pain-O-Matic Machine

Pain-O-Matic Machines are commonly found in Arcade or Sacrifice rooms, often replacing Blood Donation Machines. They require 3 coins to be used and can trigger one of the following effects:

  • Punching the player, dealing fake damage (similarly to Dull razor.pngDull Razor)
  • Gulp the player's selected trinket
  • Spawn a random heart
  • Give the player a permanent +0.10 damage

The machine will eventually break after too many uses, leaving behind an item from the Pain-O-Matic Machine item pool.

The chances of getting a payout from a Pain-O-Matic Machine are increased while holding Lucky foot.pngLucky Foot.

Glitch Machine

Glitch Machines are commonly found in Arcades, having a chance to replace regular Slot Machines. They take 3 of the pick-up type the player has the most of (Coins, Keys, or Bombs) and have a chance to pay out with one of the following, 3 - 5 times in quick succession:

Glitch Machines eventually break after too many uses, leaving behind an item from the Glitch Machine item pool.

The chances of getting a payout from a Glitch Machine are increased while holding Lucky foot.pngLucky Foot.

Golden Restock Machine

Golden Restock Machines, also known as Cashy Restock Machines, are variants of Restock Machines exclusively spawned by Tarnished keeper small.pngTarnished Keeper whenever he upgrades one of his Turnover.pngTurnover shops to max level while holding Birthright.pngBirthright. Golden Restock Machines require 5 coins to operate instead of just one, but are guaranteed to reroll all items for sale. Like regular Restock Machines, they have a chance to break after every subsequent use after the third reroll.

Converter Beggar

Converter Beggars are robotic Beggars that have a chance to replace Devil Beggars. When touched, they will take away Hald soul heart container.png half a Soul Heart in exchange for a chance to grant a Red Heart Container to Isaac.

Like other Beggars, Converter Beggars have a chance to leave when given Soul Hearts, paying out with an item from the Converter Beggar item pool.

Tithe Box

Tithe Boxes are wooden structures that increase the Angel room chance when 10 coins are placed inside. The Angel deal chance works the same as the "You feel blessed!" payout from a Sacrifice Room. When bombed, the tithe box pays out with 3-4 coins.

Tithe Boxes are primarily found via using an Offering Card, though they can be found in a few Super Secret Room layouts.
