Savage Chains is a passive item from the Epiphany mod. It is unlocked by defeating Isaac, ???, Satan, and The Lamb as Tarnished Samson.
Effects
Savage Chains has a 2 seconds recharge time and, when used, locks the player in place making them unable to move; getting hit, using the item a second time or attempting to walk away from the chains will break them and release the player. As long as the player is locked whilst in an active room, their damage, tears and shot speed stats will gradually increase over time. Their stats will gradually return to their previous value when they break free.
The maximum stats applied after a few seconds chained are as follows:
- +2.31 Tears
- +5.07 Damage
- +0.64 Shot Speed
Notes
- Savage Chains will only grant stat increases if used in an uncleared room. Using it in a cleared room will chain Isaac but will not increase stats.
Synergies
Rock Bottom - The stat increases granted by being chained are kept permanently.
Gnawed Leaf - With Isaac becoming completely invincible when idle, this allows for a safe way to quickly gain the stat increases of Savage Chains without the risk of damage from enemies.
Trivia
- Savage Chains was first introduced in Wave 2, unlocked by defeating Mega Satan as
Tarnished Cain, before being temporarily removed and replaced by Multitool.
- Prior to Wave 5, Savage Chains' sprite was originally used for
Kin's Curse, back when it was known as Chains of Pain.
